UNDERMINED
"Winning formula... Electric... Seamless marriage of song, dance and humour." - Cape Times
"Who knew that fingers could say so much?" - Monday Missile
UNDERMINED mashes up comic book and African storytelling, to tell the true tale of Madlebe, an ordinary man with an extraordinary gift, who came from Mozambique to find a job and take a better life home to his father and wife to be. However his uniquely finely tuned sense of hearing leads to some interesting developments along the way. Told against the backdrop of urban Jozi and the deep of the mines, it is a story of hope, perseverance, and an unexpected hero. UNDERMINED premiered at the Kalk Bay Theatre in April this year. After a very successful run, UNDERMINED will perform only two shows at Alexander Upstairs before heading to the National Arts Festival with Cape Town Edge.

Brilliant Performance Theatre!!! Nhlanhla, Luke and Stefan are brilliant performers. The energy they share is brilliant to behold as an audience member.
It was just the kind of show I wanted to see on Saturday night. The actors were marvellous. Lovely dynamic between them. Great that they shared roles. Loved the body language, sound effects and script. Didn't manage to see it in Kalk Bay. Glad that I got to it in town. Well done.
An excellently conceived story of the life of a miner, expertly performed by all three actors, led – for me – by Stefan Erasmus. Lots of talent there. Of course, we know Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi of old, and I hadn’t see Luke Brown before. Lovely physical and vocal effects from the performers. Enjoyed it all.
