The Plothole
Stand-up comedy duo Stuart Cairns and Westley Cockrell will perform their show, THE PLOTHOLE, at Alexander Upstairs, 19 - 22 June, 9pm. The show had runs at the National Arts Festival, Cape Town and Johannesburg last year and will return to Grahamstown for a second season at the end of June. This year, the duo has enlisted Rob van Vuuren to direct the show.
THE PLOTHOLE brings to life the trials and tribulations that comics face while pursuing careers in stand-up comedy. From keeping a day job to chasing the impossible dream of impressing their parents, these two oddballs will have you laughing at their expense.
For an hour, Cairns and Cockrell take you through the wacky process that goes into creating stand-up comedy. Pursuing a career in comedy is not easy, as you will soon learn, and both guys have had their fair share of embarrassment. Instead of quitting though, the duo have transformed their trials and tribulations into one of the funniest stories you will ever hear.” Cassy Van Eden forwww.mediaupdate.co.za
“A highly energetic show. Two whimsical characters take you on an explorative journey to becoming standup comedians. They maintain good humour, despite obstacles in their journey. Their creative use of props and audience interaction guarantee an hour of hearty laughter.”

Great fun!
I give it an average rating because it would be unfair to great productions I've seen before to rate it higher. I thoroughly enjoyed it though and look forward to "The Plothole 3 - 1. A Romcom. Based on a true story."
