The Swing Collective
Audience Responses
The Swing Collective were great, especially the lead singer, who has a wonderful stage presence - lovely voice, personality, sense of humour. The sax was a little "shy" for the genre - good notes, but no "guts". An enjoyable show, though and good to hear their jazzed-up version of some current songs.
Wow! Great band, great venue, pity the aircon did not cope with the heat generated by a sell-out audience.
Very good
Loved the band - they were fabulous. Excellent sound too! We just got very hot in the venue - the poor aircon couldn't keep up! We were in the front row though, so the lights probably played a part. We had a great time!
Amazing vocalist- stunning voice and very entertaining. All the players were fantastic and I didn't want it to end. Wouldn't have guessed they hadn't been together as a band for only a short time- very professional.
Great bunch of pro musos. Venue AC not able to take the heat though.
I did convey to our son, James Lombard (drummer in Swing Collective), that we (the parents) really enjoyed the show, but they could look into greater variation. There was a definitive repetitive pattern of the saxophone following the singing. But we will come again if they play at the Alexander Bar - and bring along some friends!
