Something Outrageous
Actors are egotistical, pampered shits. In their world nothing is real: brick walls are made from balsar wood and gunshot wounds are created painlessly in the makeup trailer... The only way onto this decadent merry-go-round is the casting room, a sterile white chamber where talented and untalented alike scramble for the next role. Rejection is a way of life. No wonder they're bastards, but can you blame them?
In this world of paraniod insecurity, insincerity and outright lies; two actors are waiting for an important casting to begin. Once friends, now rivals the two are forced to endure each other's company for the first time in years and as their realtionship unravels they stuggle to seperate reality from fantasy. The result is Something Outrageous.
The show stars Wilson Carpenter (USA) in his South African stage debut alongside Brendan Murray in a play that lives up to it's title. Directed by Greg Karvellas. No under 16 due to strong language, ribald humour and onstage violence.
Go on. Be cool. Be the person who gets to ask their friends "Do you want to see something outrageous tonight?". You know you want to.

Loved the show. Very funny and clever. Yoga skit did not tickle as much as the rest but overall, it was terrific and the acting was brilliant

Great performance. Excellent talent. just one thing the theatre was exceptionally hot, dunno if aircon not working?
Phenomenal, engaging and entertaining. A must watch. The dip into Shakespeare was executed exceptionally.

It was great! Loved it!
Very funny show, liked the South Africanisms, especially the 'now now' joke, lack a underlining story
Loved it. Fantastic new show. Would definitely come again to see how it evolves. And as always, really enjoy the Alexander Bar. Have a lovely weekend
It was great fun. Very entertaining. The actors gave it their all to a very appreciative audience. We'll be back.
If you have read any of my previous comments you will know that I am a BIG fan of Alexander Bar and a regular visitor. Having said that, you cannot please all of the people all of the time and this production was not to our liking. To be more specific, it was some what disjointed and not that professionally enacted. As I said, not every one can be a winner and it will not diminish our enthusiasm to support you. Cheers!
Outrageous indeed and with twisted sense of humor. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
I thought the show was good, a little more amateur than I had expected but well executed and very funny. The two actors were engaging - a good well done. The space is intimate and therefore wonderful, and the Alexander Bar has the fabulous old world charm. Great experience, I'll be back soon.
Loved it! Thanks guys, had a good laugh.
Rather outrageous, but not so far from reality - especially in the world of show biz... Both actors have mastered their craft and gave us an entertaining portait of their struggles! Ron & Wendy Stuart Producer and Music Director Vancouver, Canada
