Pay Back the Curry!
A multi-sketch satirical revue performed by the multi-talented Daniel Richards, taking on a multitude of contemporary themes, from falls and fees, through statues and sparrows to Zuptas and Zombies. "Satire at its best", "Awesome talent", "Clever script" are repeated themes from written audience feedback.
Written by Mike van Graan, directed by Rob van Vuuren and produced by Siv Ngesi, Pay Back the Curry! follows in the tradition of Van Graan's earlier award-winning satirical franchise, Bafana Republic. These performances are part of the revue's development before it is officially launched at the National Arts Festival in July. Audiences will be invited to offer (optional and brief) written feedback after the show. After undergoing further development in response to audience feedback at previous shows, the two Alexander Upstairs performances will be the closest the production would have come to its final version.
