Ottoman Slap
Cape Town-based Ottoman Slap will heal your wounds, allay your sorrows and soothe your soul as they weave their music, originating in the soul of itinerant folk musicians and travellers. This six-piece outfit comprises a motley mix of creatives who somehow manage to bring a congruent and fresh take on a broad base of musical influences which include Middle Eastern, North African, Andalusian, Balkan and other folk traditions. To top off this luxurious sonic offering, the show is visually enhanced with the stunning aesthetic of Tribal Fusion Bellydance.
Instruments include saxophone, trumpet, saw, clarinet, mandolin, guitar, accordion, double bass, darbuka, daf, riq, cajón, zils and castanets.
This show will be especially unique as they will be joined by the incredibly talented Kathleen Pearlson, Tribal Fusion Bellydance performer from UK. Kathleen is known for her warmth and beautiful timeless quality as a performer. She blends an aesthetic rooted in vintage with a taste for organic exploration and an openness to the new, and she will be exploring these elements on stage with Ottoman Slap.Audience Responses

Love these guys. Soul music that speaks to me.. Downside - no room to dance.
They are FANTASTIC!!!
Really great show, by a band I'm a big fan of. \\o/ The room was really, really, hot, though. Not sure if the aircon was on, or just not keeping up. The vocals seemed a bit quiet too.
