Nicky Schrire, Matthijs van Dijk, & Ariella Caira
Violinist Matthijs van Dijk, vocalist Nicky Schrire, and cellist Ariella Caira team up for a performance that celebrates collaboration and reinterpretation. The trio, on the heels of their sold out July debut performance, perform new music, from pop to classical, as well as revamped and reconstructed versions of songs by Nirvana, The Beatles and Massive Attack.
Nicky Schrire is a versatile and inventive vocalist and composer whose work has earned her comparisons to artists like Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos, and Esperanza Spalding. She has performed in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, London, Dublin and South Africa, with musicians ranging from Arno Carstens and Sibongile Khumalo to Grammy-nominated pianists Gerald Clayton and Gil Goldstein.
Cellist Ariella Caira is one of the founding members of the SAMA-winning electric trio Sterling EQ. However, her versatility has seen her contribute to projects by artists ranging from Jeremy Loops and Aron Turest-Swartz to Inge Beckmann to Alice Phoebe Lou.
Matthijs van Dijk is an award winning composer and arranger, whose music has been performed by various chamber ensembles and orchestras locally and internationally, and has collaborated with artists such as Karen Zoid, The Sontonga Quartet and Sannie Fox. He is a violinist and founding member of The Shh. Art Ensemble and The Makabra Ensemble, specialising in film and art music, often with a touch of rock and EDM.

We enjoyed the show. I appreciated that the lady at the door came to call me and my 75year old mother to go upstairs first. It was a really nice touch. :) Thank you.
