Hello and Welcome Final Poster.jpg HW SQUARE.png Tam.jpg
From the minds of two of Cape Towns sketchiest broads, Jessica Munna and Tamith Hattingh. Mother City Sketch Show returns to the Alexander bar with its latest creation: Hello & Welcome... A two woman comedy sketch show exploring everyday topics with a gaggle of quirky characters and a pinch of absurdity salt.
By definition, sketch comedy comprises a series of short comedy scenes or vignettes, called "sketches", commonly between one and ten minutes long. Such sketches are performed by a group of comic actors or comedians, either on stage or through an audio and/or visual medium such as radio and television.

Tami (only referred to as Tamith when in deep trouble) is an actress, voice over artist, improvisor, comedy sketch writer, producer and performer. She's a legit actor with a degree in Drama from Tshwane University of Technology and a myriad of other qualifications and job titles to pay the bills while she gallantly trudges through the crowded highways and byways of the arts.

Tami is not a fan of writing her own bios . For further information visit her website : http://www.tamithhattingh.com/

Jessica, aka Lady Rainicorn, aka Candy Floss is an American slob who came to Cape Town in 2012 to study jazz music for one year at UCT through a Rotary Scholarship. Long story short: one year turned into four and South Africa has never been able to get rid of her (in your face, Home Affairs). She has been a passionate thespian and storyteller since she can remember: she was in her first play when she was 8 years old. She has found a home away from home and a comedy family at MCS and she could not be happier.

Likes: being a non-judgmental vegetarian, salsa dancing with my tall handsome drummer beau, live-dubbing Spanish soap operas

Pet Peeves: belly button lint, silent but deadly farts, unexpected gratuitous sex scenes in films that I am watching with my parents.

Audience Responses

My first time to the Akexander Bar, as I live in KZN and am visiting Cape Town. I loved the show and the venue. I will definitely recommend it to friends.

Four of us attended the show and everyone loved it! Jenna and Tammith were hysterically funny, the show was intelligent and up to date. A lovely night had by all. Compliments to the kitchen for the best cheese and charcuterie platters, something delicious to be quaffed after the show.

Thought-provoking, great acting and singing, original ideas and the best laugh I had in a while.

Entertaining and fun. Lacking in sophistication and feeling a little too "high school play" in parts.

Definitely one of the best put together, engaging shows I have been to. There was also a few thought provoking, current content in there (political, social). These Mother City Sketch shows are always great, and the two girls who obviously put a lot of hard work into this one should be recognised for their creativity and talent.
