Lot’s Wife is a radical and poignant interpretation of biblical and contemporary tales of love and violence. It features Lot’s Wife, Gabriel and You-Know-Who. This play reading is directed by Bo Petersen and stars Adrian Collins, Guy de Lancey, Adam Neill and Faniswa Yisa. The play is work-in-progress and the writer, Laurie Nathan, is keen to hear your views.  “Men, they’re all the damn same: the Holy One, his scarlet robed enemy, their disciples and soldiers and priests. All of them in love with ‘the word’, in love with their rules and their robes, in love with themselves. Never mind love itself. They believed they were saviours. Ha ha ha.” – Lot’s Wife

Audience Responses

4 - A fascinating exploration into the logic of the all powerful, the fine balance between benevolence and wrath, how in the distraction of emotion other important forces go unnoticed to the detriment of the former. Certainly a play to follow as it evolves.

Both the text and the performance was excellent. The work has great potential. I found the process of being in a reading and being able to offer constructive criticism to the playwright directly to be valuable and enjoyable. I think a reading of this nature is excellent for publicity as it gets potential audience members as well as people in the industry talking about the work at an early stage. Would like to see more staged readings in the future! Felt perfect for a Sunday afternoon. Thank you.

It is great for experimental work to be hosted by AB. As such an unfinished play is most interesting and as people find themselves in the making of this play, it adds agency to the issues we work with every day. Thanks for a successful vision and model of theatre. Tossie
