Jerry, an unconventional Hero & Dude, wa’s my Bakkie? - a double feature
Jerry: An Unconventional Hero - Directed by Ian van der Westhuizen
How does Jerry, a shy computer-nerd, wind up inside an interrogation room? In a convoluted tale of action and absurdity, Jerry faces shady, larger-than-life characters as he's thrust into dangerous situations. He has to be brave and he has to learn that anyone can be a hero, even a nerd. But it all starts with a mysterious pizza delivery...
Dude, Wa’s My Bakkie? - Directed by Dean van der Ventel
When Dean September discovers that his vehicle has been stolen, he starts reminiscing. Starting with his 21st birthday, when he received the 1400 Bakkie as a gift, he continues through many endearing bakkie-adventures, capturing his first love, heartbreak, road-rage, hijackings and car-theft - all wrapped up in 90’s music and Cape-coloured culture.
Jerry, an unconventional hero, is an action-packed performance about danger and courage, with a storyline that combines pop culture themes and Le Cordeur’s appetite for superhero comics. He skillfully morphs into numerous characters, making use of physicality and lighting effects to isolate and define the different scenarios as the story unfolds.
Dude, wa's my Bakkie, is an explorative journey centred around issues of identity, mental and physical wellness, cultural awareness and masculinity in a modern society. The production utilizes projected video and audience participation to enrich the experience, whilst cunningly creating road-safety awareness.

Audience Responses
VERY Captivating and real performance. Insightful comedy regarding the lives of the people in Cape.
It was a very good show. Interesting.
simply fantastic! well directed as well
I would have given 5 stars, but I was disappointed that the second show was in Africans, which I do not understand. You should always mention, If it is not in English.
A well written, directed and acted play. Commendable. Intimate theatre doesn't get much better than this.
