Evan doesn't care much about anything, Beverly cares a lot about herself and Stefan just needs someone to care about him. A bittersweet comedy about three friends in their twenties navigating the 'scene' in Cape Town, growing up and growing a conscience. Also there is considerable mention of Sally Field.

Wessel Pretorius debuts with his first full length English production I LOVE YOU SALLY FIELD as writer and director, having spent most of his time creating and performing in Afrikaans theatre over the past few years. He uses a cast of up-and-coming actors of considerable skill and talent to poke fun at the pretension, hysteria and self-awareness that comes with trying to 'adult' in a metropolitan scene today. Three distinct voices get to voice their secret (or perhaps not so secret) desires and neuroses: Evan - the part time model and graphic designer who is trying to perfect the art of cool apathy, Beverly - the woke wannabe poet/artist/whatever who can't seem to crack the love game and Stefan - the Afrikaans boy from Ermelo who would like to be a writer but is currently serving burgers in a tank top.
Kathleen Stephens graduated from UCT in 2014 with a B.A. degree in Theatre and performance. She is an acute director, performer and theatre maker, with a high level of craft and sophisticated interpretation of text which enables her to create work that has a density of theatrical creativity and speaks directly to a contemporary audience. She has the skills-set to craft meaning and understand the holistic elements of a theatrical process to enhance the vision of the story she is telling.  Kathleen has vast experience both on stage and behind the scenes, working from a young age in professional theatre productions. She is also the co-founder of the production company known as Hungy Minds Productions which looks at working with artists on a collaborative basis. In 2014 she staged her final piece, Present in Culpa, which she devised, designed and directed. This formed part of her end of year practical examination. She also designed and performed (Queen Victoria) in UHM, a 4th Year Theatre Making Project for the Grahamstown Festival, which was then staged at the Artscape. It went on to perform at the KKNK festival after which it was published in 2015. She was approached in 2015 to co-direct and adapt Athol Fugard’s People are living there with Blythe Linger for the Grahamstown National Arts festival. The production was then staged at the Cape Town Fringe Festival and was then taken to Johannesburg to be performed at the Soweto Theatre for a panel of Naledi Award judges. She has directed four children theatre productions for Arepp: Theatre for life and was assistant director for the Western Cape Dept. of Sports and Culture’s musical production City Nirvana. She also performed in People beneath our feet, one of three productions taken to the Grahamstown festival 2016 under Hungry Minds.

David is a film and theater actor. In 2014 he graduated with distinction in Theatre and Performance (UCT). At the beginning of 2015, he received a Fleur du Cap theatre nomination for Most Promising Student and a Kanna nomination for Best Upcoming Performer earlier this year. In May, David was awarded the Brett Goldin Bursary to work with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon in August. At the 2016 NAF, David performed in Wynne Bredenkamp\'s Ovation award-winning production \"Salt\" as well as alongside the venerable Nicholas Ellenbogen in Raiders.

Du Toit Albertze is a second year drama student at University of Stellenbosch, he has performed in theatre productions such as Bos(2012) with director Marthinus Basson and Vaselinetjie(2015) with Shirley Ellis. He can currently be heard weekly on RSG in Die Groot 5 and the election drama.

A magnificent, hugely entertaining, slick, clever, intelligent show. Massively funny and with so many wonderful performance moments. Great script, spot-on direction. Could I please add that we ate dinner beforehand: We both ordered the aubergine parmigiana and both felt it was atrocious - a serious indictment on the kitchen. Service also haphazard.
