Feel The Things Iguanas Feel with Shotgun Tori + Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys
Alternative folk artists Shotgun Tori and Lucy Kruger & the Lost
Boys team up to bring you a double bill of music that will soothe your
savage beast.
“I now understand why her voice made some of the biggest names in the South African music scene sit-up and notice. It’s certain that her music is ageless...” Dirty Pink City on Lucy Kruger
“Shotgun Tori is one serious vocal powerhouse coming out of South Africa music scene today … She blends folk, rockabilly, and alternative for a sound that can go from gritty to dreamy in just a few minutes” Eartotheground.co (USA) It has been close to two years since the release of Lucy’s debut album and her emergence on the South African music scene. The growth in these two years, due to relentless touring and collaborations with various artists, has resulted in a new avenue for the 25 year old - one of colourful soundscapes, dreamy melodies and primal rhythms, while still staying true to her roots of acoustic folk and her honest way with words.
The makings of her band, The Lost Boys, started with stripped down acoustic shows at the 2013 National Arts Festival, where Lucas Swart and Andre Leo joined her on guitar. The musicians have given Lucy the space to further explore what music can sound and feel like. It brings a greater subtlety and a greater violence to the songs.
Shotgun Tori is, at heart, a storyteller, a woman with a voice and a guitar, her subject matter approached with an interesting, occasionally humorous, yet always insightful life view. Her touching, raw vocal delivery is both tender and powerful, and listeners are left with no doubt that she sings straight from her heart. Tori’s music puts you on the spot, in the moment, while sometimes fun and upbeat, it is often gentle and heart-wrenching

Audience Responses
Fanatstic show and the same with Gary Thomas, Last Round. It's a wonderful venue and I intend coming many more times with lots of people
Amazing artists. Levels on sound desk could have been a bit more even or similar for Lucy Kruger & the lost boys.
Two amazing voices and great talents. Thoroughly enjoyed the show.
great music. fantastic talent. sublime music. i did wonder, in the break, given the popularity of the space and entertainment ( much searching for additional chairs ) why the changing room and light and sound table takes up almost as much space as the space for the audience. however would highly recommend.
