The Very Best of Naked Girls Reading Cape Town
This event is being held in conjunction with The Grand Exhibition, International Burlesque Benefit and proceeds will be donated to Rape Crisis.
What is Naked Girls Reading?
Naked Girls Reading is a nude literary salon that takes place in twenty cities around the world and on five different continents. At each event, a small cast of beautiful ladies remove their clothing (yes, all of it) and read personal selections to an adoring audience. It is entertaining, magical, often funny, sometimes heart-wrenching and really very sexy.
Are the girls really naked?
Yes, we are.
Is the audience naked?
No, they are not.
There’s something beautiful, something altogether more intimate, about a woman reading in the nude. It’s just that simple.
The Cape Town chapter of this international event has been described as a "performance art sensation" on eTV Primetime News and has been featured in The Sunday Times, as well as recommended by Elle magazine's online gig guide and CapeTownMagazine.com.

Audience Responses
A refreshingly different experience. Will DEFINITELY be watching the posts for the 7th reading! WHERE do they get those stories from??
Naked Girls Reading always has literary excellence. The readings done by beautiful women created an atmosphere of escape from the real world of economic struggle facing us all. The ending off with a poem really gave the evening that closing that blended with beautiful women. Thank you and please continue with these readings. My request is that a list with the titles of the books used in the reading be displayed on a poster at the bar for those wishing to further follow up their reading from these literary works. Proposal: Approach some of the publishers and book shops for funding toward the arts-as in Naked Girls Reading-of new books still to be launched as part of their book launching projects. I am sure book shops like Book Lounge would welcome such an idea. They would then fund the project like Naked Girls Readings as well as have a stand selling these books after the reading from a temporary book stand in the bar section. Thank you
Most enjoyable evening.
We really enjoyed the performance - the stories were interesting and well read. We didn't appreciate that you allowed people to arrive late. It is a disturbance to both the audience and the performers. Late comers should not be allowed in. We also understand the unreserved seats, but at least the same seating used during the first half should apply for the second part after the interval. It's not fair that the seats of people who made the effort to arrive on time are occupied by late comers during the second sitting. Other than that, we really enjoyed the experience of the theatre, as well as your restaurant, and we will be back for more shows.
