James Grace - Unplugged
Acclaimed guitarist James Grace makes a welcome return to the Alexander Bar in ‘Unplugged’, an intimate solo performance featuring a selection of Spanish guitar favourites, with works from his recently-released sixth studio album, Chilled. 'Unplugged' features just Grace and his guitar, performing works that have earned him critical international acclaim and two SAMA nominations for Best Popular Classical and Best Instrumental albums respectively.
Grace recently performed a sold-out run at Pieter Toerien’s Theatre on the Bay with Recuerdos, a multi-media production featuring flamenco dancers from Carli Spanish Dance Productions and underwater photography and video visuals by Ilse Moore. Of the show, Sheila Chisolm from Weekend Special commented, ‘…Grace’s finger style is brilliant’. (weekendspecial.co.za/recuerdos-danza-estilizada-review)
In a recent review of Grace’s CD, Chilled, Keith Millar from Artsmart summarized: ‘Chilled will be enjoyed by all who love solo guitar music, and is sure to make a lot of new converts.’ Read the full review here: news.artsmart.co.za/2017/09/james-grace-chilled

Mesmerising, I was in awe!
It was a great evening to listen to someone as talented as Grace. That ye really loves his art is evident and I'd look for further concerts of his. About the food and service beforehand. That needs considerable work and certainly next time we'll eat/drink elsewhere and come to the show at the bar.
My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed his performance. We could not believe the time passed so quickly, too quickly.
First time to Alexander Bar and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciated the smoke free environment. James Grace show was very inspirational - a truly amazing musical talent, he deserves a bigger stage and audience.
A wonderful hour with a maestro! Such a pity there were only 12 people but it made it quite a personal evening.

Wonderful way to spend a little over an hour listening toe the magic that comes from his guitar playing
