Anthology: Anti-Matter
Alexander Upstairs loves new writing and Anthology is a platform for exciting new voices to play with style and material. The first installment earlier this year explored the theme "A Change in the Weather" - this time the writers have been challenged to come up with stories inspired by the term "Anti-Matter". Each play is around 15 minutes in length, making for a evening of surprises and punchy story-telling.

The show was highly entertaining and amusing. Thank you.
Great fun! Admirable job by the actors to switch plays and roles so fluidly. Masterful writing!! And evocative staging.
Anthology: Anti-matter @ Alexander Upstairs, Saturday 15 August 2015 Consists of: Joanna Evans: Play’s name? directed by Joanna Evans Jon Keevy: Play’s name? directed by Louis Viljoen Louis Viljoen: Some cod-Roman name, directed by Louis Viljoen (We definitely need a programme for this.) Performed by Andrew Laubscher and Brendan Daniels. On the evidence of this evening, I don’t like this ‘anthology’ idea. The pieces are so short and their content so without-substance that the temptation is just to be funny for the sake of … what? For me, the only pleasure was in watching two very good actors doing not-very-much. I would much have preferred to see them play some substantial, meaty single hour-long play. I think these five-finger-exercises should stay in the try-out Playthings Monday evenings. I certainly shouldn’t be asked to pay R90 for this.
Excellent
Absolutely fantastic. Really top quality work in a lovely, intimate venue. I was immersed and riveted the entire time. Thanks and keep it up!

I really dig the Anthology series, please keep it going! Short Stories on Stage is just my kind of thing, and last night's performers were fantastic.
